I need to go to Maine more often.Rockport, Maine - January 15, 2012 by Peter Ralston
It was cold yesterday morning - I hear about minus four - so I took a little walk down to the harbor for a gander. Lots of sea smoke with a light but cutting northerly wind. I love this harbor of ours this time of year. Yesterday it was just me and a few sorry-looking gulls. The few boats still in appear resigned to their winter on the water. The island and the lighthouse look very, very far away right now.

Once upon a time, in Brooklin Harbor…
There were some amazingly gorgeous boats. Everyone loved sailing them, and it was a very nice place to sail.
